Richard is an attorney and former Certified Public Accountant with over forty-five years of experience as a “go-to” tax and business specialist. Over the course of his career, Richard has assisted numerous nationally prominent criminal defense attorneys in their defenses of tax and business matters and fraud allegations. His analytical thinking coupled with his training in both law and accounting has provided the foundation for a long line of successful defense theories.

After obtaining his B.A. in economics from Fordham University, Richard attended The National Law Center at George Washington University in Washington DC, where he earned his J.D. Thereafter while working at Austin J. Doyle Jr, PC and later as an associate attorney at Tigar, Buffone & Doyle P.C., he obtained bar admissions to the District of Columbia, the state of Maryland, and the state of New York, and also became certified as a Public Accountant in the District of Columbia.

With his specialized background and experience, Richard has qualified and testified as an expert witness in taxation and/or accounting in six different cases in four separate federal jurisdictions.

Richard concentrates his practice in civil and criminal tax controversy work, tax return compliance, and fraud auditing on behalf of attorneys and clients. He has done so before various courts, including the United States Tax Court, as well as several federal and tax agencies. His ability to identify issues in complex financial documents makes him an invaluable resource to both clients and trial attorneys. Through his many years in the field, and because of his intelligence and integrity, Richard has gained the respect of the many revenue agents and other governmental employees with whom he has dealt. Time and again, those professional relations have inured to the benefits of the clients and attorneys that Richard has served.
