New Jersey State Courts Set to Reopen Fully

Court Pillars

The Administrative Office of the Courts has announced that, beginning on August 2, 2021, all state court locations will reopen to the public and the Judiciary will resume 75% on-site staff presence. Beginning on September 7, 2021, the Judiciary will increase to 100% on-site staff presence in all state court locations.

Scheduled in-person court events will not fully resume immediately but rather will continue to expand “gradually,” consistent with social distancing considerations deemed necessary.

Face masks and six-feet social distancing will continue to be required for in-person jury proceedings, including the in-person phase of criminal jury selections, all in-person jury trials, and in-person grand jury sessions.
