Anthony Gruppuso (Of Counsel)
For close to twenty-five years, Anthony M. Gruppuso has practiced as a civil litigator in both state and federal courts. His clientele encompasses a diverse range, including accounting firms, trustees, medical practices, limited liability company members, manufacturers, distributors, and high net worth individuals. Anthony's legal representations frequently involve intricate disputes spanning various facets of business law such as contracts, fraud, professional malpractice, domestic and international commercial law, and bankruptcy.
His Story
With extensive experience in both large law firms and his own private practice, Anthony has developed a broad skill set through handling diverse legal matters. He has represented a wide range of clients in high-profile and high-stakes cases, showcasing his versatility and depth of expertise.

Anthony M. Gruppuso has been involved in a wide range of legal matters over his career. As the SIPA trustee for the estate of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, he pursued an adversary proceeding to recover approximately $825 million from foreign feeder funds through the avoidance of fraudulent transfers. Additionally, he has represented trustees for chapter 11 estates in cases involving real estate entities used in Ponzi schemes, as well as handled breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract claims for minority LLC members.
On the defense side, Anthony has successfully defended clients in various contexts. He represented the Secretary to the former Governor of New York against claims regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and allegations of sexual harassment. Furthermore, he has defended businesses, including a distributor of dietary supplements and a Big Four accounting firm, against claims ranging from fraudulent transfer and consumer fraud to fraud, malpractice, and civil RICO.
Anthony's diverse experience also extends to representing clients in arbitration proceedings, such as one of New Jersey's largest real estate developers, and handling appeals and motions related to insurance coverage, professional disqualification, and UCC claims for multinational technology and manufacturing companies.

Outside of his legal practice, Anthony is actively involved in community and civic affairs. He played a pivotal role as a founding trustee and former president of The Baseball Club of Chatham, N.J., Inc., a non-profit organization responsible for organizing youth and travel baseball programs for around 800 children in Chatham, New Jersey. Additionally, Anthony has dedicated his time to pro bono work, particularly assisting veterans with disability benefit claims before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims in Washington, D.C.
